What requirements are needed for the Dutch book?

Any seafarer holding a valid and recent (issued in the past 2 months) Dutch contract stating the seafarer works for a Dutch company or a contract by a non Dutch company stating the seafarer works on a Dutch flagged vessel can apply for a dutch seaman book. 

Additional requirements: 

• List of crew and position on board 

• Valid passport

• Photo on white background 

• Personal information (email,phone,address)

Can I foreign apply for a Dutch Seaman Book? 

Foreign seafarers are only eligible for the seaman’s book if they are going to sail under the Dutch flag or with a Dutch shipping company.

The seafarer needs to provide a signed statement from the employer per seafarer.

In the signed statement the following must be present:

Full name

Function on board

Name and IMO number of the ship

How long does it take to issue my Dutch seaman book?

If you select our STANDARD SERVICE, the Estimated Issuance Time is 4 weeks for the seaman book soft copy issuance after payment is confirmed plus shipping days.

For FAST SERVICE, the Estimated Issuance Time is 1 week for the Seaman Book soft copy issuance after payment is confirmed.

The Seaman Book and title will be valid for 10 years from the date of issuance.

• Reason why you request a duplicate in a signed and official letter

Yes, you can request for a duplicate of your Dutch Seaman Book, however you still need to hold a valid contract and additional documents:
